Hello! My name is Carolyn Fisher, and I am thrilled to continue to teach at Grace Worship arts!
Born and raised in the Rochester, NY area, I fell in love with dance at an early age. After marrying my husband in June of 2012, I moved down to Cattaraugus county and have been there ever since. We have an adorable Holland lop bunny (my favorite animal) named Zippy.
• I am the 7th grade math teacher for the Salamanca school district.
• From 2008-2012, I studied at Houghton College, earning a B.A. in mathematics and a B.A. in adolescent education.
• Shortly after Houghton, I completed my master’s degree at Walden University specializing in middle school education for grades 5-8.
In addition to loving dance and teaching both dance and math, I love to spend time with my family, play board and card games, play bass and sing, continue to further my own dance education, and spend time with my beautiful bunny rabbit.

•Throughout most of my life, I have studied a wide variety of dance genres (ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, modern, contemporary, and tap with some Irish, Indian, African, and acro) with many different dance instructors, including ones in New York City and Disney World. After much thought, I realize that I do not have a favorite dance genre. All have their excellent points, and I love to dance all sorts of styles!
•My formal classical ballet training largely began in 2008 when I attended college. I have also danced with a few small ballet/contemporary companies.
•When I started teaching dance around age 14, I started as a teacher assistant at the studio I danced at for most of my childhood. I have taught at the different Houghton studios (Pointe by Pointe, Houghton Movement & Arts Center, and Steps Dance Studios) from 2009-2016 and have taught at Grace since 2012.
•In 2013 I was the assistant cheerleading coach for the Franklinville varsity cheerleaders, choreographing their main dance and working on cheers and dance technique.
•I have taught many private lessons, a variety of workshops, choreographed wedding dances, and choreographed numerous dances over the years. I have taught students from the age of 3 through senior citizen.
•At Grace I have mainly taught the upper levels of the school in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop, lyrical, and tap.
•I love teaching at Grace for many reasons! The atmosphere is loving and nurturing. Students are eager to worship the Lord while learning more about the arts and continuously improving their dance technique. Our dance store and Cup of Grace coffee shop contribute to the lovely environment.
•My favorite drink there is a hot chocolate mocha espresso!
•I love to teach Grace students as they are dedicated to the arts and have a servant’s heart. It has been a joy to see many of my students become teachers themselves! I love how at Grace I can talk/teach about God’s love, the Bible, and dance skills.
•One of my favorite Bible verses comes from Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) “Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
- This verse is meaningful to me because it helps to partially explain some God’s limitless awesomeness! No matter what, He gives us that second chance and continues to love us each day. Could you imagine another person continuing to allow you to try again after you have hurt them and love you over and over each morning you draw breath? It is mind blowing and unbelievable! I serve an amazing God!
